The Level 3 Award in Education and Training Introduction

Hi, my name is Rob from Axiom Dynamics. I want to welcome you to this overview of the Level 3 Award in Education and Training, formerly known as Preparing to Teach in the Lifelong Learning Sector or PTLLS for short.
This course is broken down into three modules or Units
This includes:

  1. Understanding roles, responsibilities, and relationships in education and training,
  2. Understanding and using inclusive teaching and learning approaches in education and training, and
  3. Understanding assessment in education and training

Regarding your assessments for this qualification, you will need to complete an online portfolio, but don’t worry; everything is explained in our online Learner Management system, so you will understand what you need to do to complete the course.

For your portfolio, you will need to complete three workbooks, one per unit, a 15-minute micro-teach on your chosen subject, as well as three peer reviews and one self-evaluation.

So, the workbooks are three documents that contain questions which you will need to answer and complete. The 15-minute micro-teach is a short lesson, which you will need to plan and deliver. This will also need to be recorded and send to us for review.

Next, the peer reviews, and this is where you watch another learner’s micro-teach delivery and provide them with your feedback, and finally, the self-evaluation. This is where you write down how you felt your micro-teach went, what you did well and what you could improve upon for next time.

As part of this course, you will also receive two kindle books. ‘The Award in Education and Training’ and ‘Passing Assessments for the Award in Education and Training‘ by Ann Gravells. These can both be used for reference and guidance throughout your course.

The Axiom Dynamics team will be there, on hand, to guide you through the whole process. Furthermore, you will also have access to our private Facebook group, where you can ask questions and seek further help.

I hope this has helped answer any questions you may have. Please also feel free to contact us with any other queries, and we look forward to helping you on your path to success.
